It is difficult to put into words who God is, but the Bible gives us many examples of this. God is a powerful force in our lives and in this world.
In the Bible God is described as a Warrior, our Rock, our Hope, our Salvation, and our Father. He is also knowable, loving, mighty, worthy of glory, trustworthy, gracious, almighty and merciful. Theseare just a few of the attributes of God.
The scriptures are filled with the characteristics of our Heavenly Father. Of all the words that best describe Him, the greatest of these is love.1 John - 4:16, And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us, God is love, and he that dwelleth in love dwellethin God, and God in Him.
God's love for us is almost beyond our understanding. During our lifetime,we love many people. God loves each of us and wants us to share that love with others. His love reached down through time and space, and walked among us. God's love for us is tempered with mercy, grace, and understanding. His grace and His love made salvation possible.
God's love shook this world when He sent it down in the form of Jesus Christ. God's love walked among us. When we think about John 3:16, we sometimes forget that these were the words that Jesus spoke. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. These words came from
Jesus as He spoke to Nicodemus. The first words of the scripture say it all . . . for God so loved the world. As we go through each day, it is God's wish that we share the love that He has shown to us. His greatest gift to this world is His love. Love is easier to give to others, when it comes from our Father. Through prayer and Bible study, we will be able to have that same love. His love will fill our hearts and then it can be freely given to others. God is many things to each of us, but the greatest of these is a loving Father.
Fill me with your love and grace, let me walk by Your side. Father, let me share Your love, always be my guide.
